Something looks wrong

Tell us the code or the light, the page, and what you found on your own car or in the service information: the repair that cleared the code is the most useful thing a reader can send. Rule changes are best sent with the eCFR or GovInfo address of the new text.

What we cannot do

We cannot diagnose your car by email, recommend a shop, sell parts or quote a repair. Manufacturer codes (P1xxx and the like) are defined in each maker's service information, which we do not reproduce. For a recall or a safety defect, NHTSA runs its own lookup and complaint service.

Using a tool on your own site

Forums, driving schools, fleet managers and newsrooms can show the code lookup in an iframe at no cost: see the embed page.
